Whether teaching online or in-person, I strive to create a nurturing environment for students of all ages and abilities. I believe that, with dedication and a good work ethic, anyone can learn to play the cello. I am incredibly committed to all of my students, whether they are just starting the instrument or have already studied for several years. I have taught students of all ages and abilities since 2015.

Full parent testimonial:

“We have had the pleasure of working with Iona for the past five years, ever since my daughter was six years old. From the very beginning, Iona has demonstrated exceptional patience and dedication, making a significant impact on my daughter's musical journey.

Iona’s expertise is evident in the way she has taught my daughter to read music, count rhythms, and navigate through Suzuki Books 1 to 8. Her guidance has been invaluable, not only in terms of technical skills but also in fostering a deep appreciation for music.

What truly sets Iona apart is her passion for teaching and her meticulous attention to musical technicality. She takes the time to polish my daughter’s cello playing, ensuring that every detail is refined and every skill is mastered.

We are incredibly grateful for Iona’s commitment and the positive influence she has had on my daughter’s growth as a musician. Her enthusiasm and dedication make her an outstanding teacher and a cherished mentor.“
